Boredom

As I sit at work waiting for some testing to be thrown my way, I realize I am bored. Not only am I bored, but boring! I can't even think of a good topic for my post. I suppose I could talk about how the Southern folks still hate the Northern folks, because they lost the war to them. Granted us Western folks, they don't even know there is anything past the Mississippi River. They probably still think it's Indians and buffalos.

Well if anyone has a good idea on what I can blog about, let me know. Maybe I will come up with something in a few minutes.

What's on TV

With all the many choices to watch on TV's prime time, I would like to say the only one I am really interested in watching is House, MD. Is that decision that hard to make? Not really. The Reality Show craze overload has ruined reality shows for me. Seeing as that is what is mostly left on TV to watch, I am disgusted with the way America responds to these TV shows. I can't go through a day of work without someone mentioning who won on Dancing with the Stars or which American Idol got the most verbal abuse from Simon the night before.

Well back to the issue on hand. With House in it's 4th season, there was some doubt as to how this season would pan out. At the end of Season 3, Dr. Foreman quit, Dr. Chase was fired by House and Dr. Cameron followed suit by quitting as well. There was some discussion as to how in the world the show was going to continue without this dynamic group of characters. I had little faith in the Fox writers, but they pulled off an amazing twist. House has an interview process with lots of candidates and continues to push and manipulate them to see how far they will go to work for him. Even more clever was the reintroduction of Dr. Cameron and Dr. Chase working in different parts of the hospital and contributing to the candidates interview process. To top it off Dr. Foreman gets fired from his job when he breaks the rules. No one is willing to hire him so he is forced to go back and work for House. Excellent.

Episodes are run on Tuesdays on Fox at 9pm EST.

My job

I am sure many people out there wonder what my job is. My official title is Ophthalmic Photographer. In plain words that means I take pictures of the back of eyeballs. It's a strange and small niche but very cool. Here is a pic of a montage of the back of an eye. It's hard to figure out this picture because as we all know, eyeballs are round.

Urban Ninja

Another Jackie Chan in the making.

Slacker

I just realized that I did not really accomplish what I set out to do when I started this blog. Hence why I need to update my goals. I think I will just change it to random thoughts and pictures. I had a crazy dream last night. That is normal but it involved my friend Jana. I was on a double date with her and her husband but I don't remember having a date. Typical. So I found a picture of Jana and I from High School. We used to get our photos taken in those photos booths all the time at the mall. We totally had 90's hair. Anyway, I need to give her a call.

Gross Gas Station

There is this little gas station across the street from where I work and every time I go there I wonder why I keep going back. One time they didn't have any straws for the fountain drinks. Another time the frozen slushie machines were dripping on the floor. Just today I went in and it smelled like burnt hot dogs. Then to top it off, the Cherry Coke and Dr Pepper fountains drinks were out. Nevermind that I usually get Diet Coke, but I usually spike it with a bit of Cherry Coke to make me feel like I am drinking a more delicious drink. To top if off none of the gas station attendants speak english very well. All well, until I find somewhere else that is close I will continue to go there and see what will be different that day.

Back Pain Pills

Ironically enough I threw my back out the weekend before my vacation starts. Not sure exactly how, but I know it's painful. I had to go to the store to buy some back pain pills and irony strikes again! The back pain pills are on the bottom shelf. Who does that? So evil. I sat and started at them trying to figure out how to get the pills without reducing myself to a crying puddle of pain. I finally decided to go ask the cashier girl for help and she easily enough bent over and handed them to me. Needless to say ibuprofen works just as well as back pain pills.

Week off List

For your week off, you should:

1. Rearrange your apartment (I like rearranging, just not the cleaning that goes with it)
2. Find your local library and read some good books
3. Sleep in
4. Take some pictures
5. Go to Body World
6. Try and return one netflix everyday, that way every day you get a new one. (as long as you have a two day turn around like me)
7. Go see Bourne Ultimatum
8. Go to Hickory and get coffee at the Barnes and Noble and see if the barrista is a girl named Marcie.
9. Go to Winston-Salem
10. Start a blog.

I am going to try and do all these things in this list from now until my last day of vacation, August 19th. Is it possible to do all these? We will see. Stay tuned for more details and to see if I complete the list. Well really I have already finished one as I am now starting this blog.
