Motion Sickness Movie

Last night my friend and I went to see Juno in the movie theater. This is not a review of that movie, as I never read other people's reviews of movies. (Sorry Brandon but I will read your review of Cloverfield after I see it.) While we were at the ticket booth buying our movie tickets, there was a warning sign for the individuals who wanted to see Cloverfield. It read something like this:

"Due to the filming method used for "Cloverfield," guests viewing this film may experience side effects associated with motion sickness, similar to riding a rollercoaster."

Wow! Never have I seen such a warning sign for a movie. I wish this sign was up for a couple of other movies I saw that made me want to throw up after. (Bourne Supremacy and I actually did throw up during Scream 2, but I blame Applebee's for that one.) The only thing they should have added to the warning sign was:

"Motion sickness pills available at the candy stand for 600% mark-up price."

Needless to say I still want to see Cloverfield, but I may be taking some non-drowsy dramamine beforehand to get my moneys worth.

*Sidenote: If you want to see a random, really funny, good movie, see Juno.

Results of crafty explosion

After perusing 3 crafty type stores over the weekend, these are my results. I purchased a few little cross stitch items to remember how much fun they are to make and how they make my hands cramp up. My first finished piece is the "Girls Rule". I have not decided where to hang it up yet.

Please answer my poll. After a discussion with my co-worker yesterday, she felt that knitting was easier to learn, and I felt that crocheting was easier to learn. I am curious to see what the majority of people think on this subject. Guys you can answer too, it doesn't mean you want to learn to knit cute pink hats, just which one looks easier to complete.

She's Crafty!

I got a sudden hankering to do something crafty. I don't get this urge very often so I don't see a problem in indulging myself from time to time. Years ago I was taught to crochet and went on a frenzy of crocheting blankets and well mostly blankets. At the time I lived with my sister and her family. One night I was sitting on the couch making a blanket after school and my niece walked up to me and said, "Oh are you crotchetting?" Now it's hard to find the humor in reading this, but imagine pronouncing crochet with the first part saying "crotch". Well I laughed my head off and probably scarred my little niece for life, (Sorry Amy) but it is a good story.

Anyway, thinking maybe I will get into crocheting again, I began to peruse Amazon.com looking for some ideas. Well when I put "crochet" in the search box, guess what the first item was:

All I have to say is awesome. Maybe I will take up pottery.

License Plates

The only time I ever thought about getting a customized license plate was for my 16th birthday. Somehow in my teenage mind I thought it would be so cool to have a license plate that said "16Becky16" on it. Yes at the time I didn't realize I'd have it for more than my 16th birthday, but those rational thoughts usually didn't enter my mind until it was too late. Well ever since I realized that customized plates were annoying, I have found some interesting ones living here in Charlotte. Thanks to my fantastic camera phone, I was able to capture some of the license plates to share with you. (I almost put you all. Dang southerners!)

What better to do when sitting in a drive-thru line at taco bell? Take photos of the license plates of the car in front of you. I'm guessing this guys name is Nate?

Obviously when I saw this I was wondering what Jesus toilet paper was. I asked some of the religious people at work and no one knew what this meant exactly.

This one was hard to obtain. First it was dark and this chick was driving really fast so it was hard to get behind her and get a good photo. First off it had a scrolling LED sign that said something crazy. I can't remember exactly... something about a tough woman. Then you can probably make out the pirate sticker and the license plates says BIGNSASY. Awesome.

This truck was in front of me on my way back to work yesterday. I realize it is not a license plate, but I like the usage of the Dodge brand name to get the message across. For those of you who don't have the Bible memorized, I looked up the verse for you:

"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

Wow no playing around here in the Bible Belt!

Well I hope you enjoyed my license plates. I'm always on the lookout for a good random customized license plate.

Redneck Stories for Becca

Ok well since I haven't looked at my blog since the last time I posted, I found I would entertain Becca with some redneck stories.

Last Christmas we were driving to my bosses house for a very exciting Christmas party. None of us had been there so we got some google map directions. Well of course it was pitch dark out in the country, so I missed the turnoff to his neighborhood. I had to drive up a bit to turn around. I turned into this house and thought I could make a U-turn on their gravel and as I'm doing so, someone yells at me, "You are driving on their lawn!" I kept on going and said, "What are you talking about? There is just dirt and gravel." Well apparently in the south, that is considered lawn. Probably somewhere beneath the gravel was some nice grass. Then I was informed that people out in the country shoot you for less than that. I was lucky to get out alive. What I find ironic is that while you can't make a U-turn on their "lawn" they are allowed to park up to 7 cars on it.

That story was not very exciting. Sorry Becca. I will come up with better stories to amuse you. I blame it on this nasty virus I am just now getting over. Blasted virus!
